Meet Scott Steinmann
Born on July 17, 1973, Steinmann resides in Chandler Arizona with his wife Suzy, daughter Alex and son Ben. Steinmann served over 20 years with the Mariners organization. He spent the 2013 season as a bench coach with the AAA Tacoma Rainiers. In years 2015, 2014 and 2009 he managed the Clinton Lumberkings. In 2014, the Lumberkings made the May 19th Sports Illustrated with a 4 page article titled “THE COMBACK KIDS” coming back from a 16 run deficit, touted as “one of the most incredible games in hardball history.”
In years 2010-2012 Steinmann was with the Everett Aquasox where he both managed and served as a hitting coach. Everett won the Northwest League Championship in 2010 while Steinmann was hitting coach.
Steinmann skippered the West Tennessee Diamondjaxx in 2008 and lead them to a 70-68 overall record, tying for first in their division for the first half of the season. He spent 2007 as manager of the High Desert Mavericks and was the hitting coach for the Peoria Mariners in 2006.
The Wisconsin Timberrattlers finished in first place in 2005 in the Midwest League’s Western Division with Steinmann at the helm, posting a 39-31 record in the first half and a 37-32 record in the second half and losing 2-3 in a five-game series in the Midwest League Championship Series.
In both 2003 and 2004, Steinmann managed the Peoria Mariners, in 2002 he coached with San Bernardino and spent 2000 and 2001 coaching in Wisconsin. In 1999 he was a roving catching instructor prior to joining Everett as a coach in June of that same year.
Originally signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent on August 3, 1995, Steinmann was a catcher in the minors for the Mariners from 1996-1998 and played for AA Orlando in 1998. He attended Miami of Ohio University.
